"Jingle Your Brand" Conference

In May 2007, the Pan-European Brand Design Association (PDA) put together a stimulating congress, based on the theme of sound branding: the first congress in Europe that focused on this exciting new area!

The congress was chaired by Rowland Heming of Mildberry-Pineapple Brussels. As an invited speaker, Stéphane Pigeon from CreativeSonics (now with Audible Brands) gave a detailed introduction on Sound branding.

A conference summary is available » here.

Jean-Claude Van Damme, Actor

Jean-Claude Van Damme was looking for a sonic entry to his official website. Our design was oriented toward a list of keywords given to us: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Actor, Movie, Power, Action, Audience and Fans, Premiere and Exclusivity. Click to audition.

3LP, Motion Graphics Company

From deep basses to crystal-clear ends, this sound logo covers the full spectrum and offers a professional sound experience. The voice-over has been resynthesized and suggests the core of 3D/VFX motion graphics : heavy computer processing!

UBI Banca, the 5th largest Italian banking group

Audible Brands was commissioned to develop an audio brand to reinforce the values associated with UBI, the Union of Italian Banks.

Melody-wise, the restrictive use of octaves and fifths - the foundations of our music system - develops a feeling of solidity. Tone-wise, the orchestral sounds suggest a union (of musicians in the orchestra; of banks, in the case of our client) while the ending wind chime subliminally refers to the monetary dimension associated with the brand. When printed on a score, the audio logo exhibits the same symmetrical "X" shape as the visual logo. Its rhythm follows the brand prosody (U-B-I, ban-ca).

Following the successful introduction of UBI's new audio logo, we were asked to design a corporate anthem, a 30-second advertising bed, corporate ringtones and on hold music for its automated telephone switchboard.

PDA, the Pan-European Brand Design Association

For the PDA, we were looking for three notes to match the three letters of the acronym. We sought melodies primary associated with Europe. The EBU (European Broadcasting Union) theme came to mind first (think "Eurovision") then the European Hymn (Beethoven's Ode To Joy). Interestingly, those two themes have one three-note pattern in common and only one: the three ending notes of each. This coincidence couldn't be better associated with the PDA. Suggesting the "design" keyword was a matter of changing the classical V-I voicing used in both original themes into something as original, pleasant and exciting as only creative design makes possible. The orchestra, as an ensemble of musicians, represents the "Association".

forRest, the Green Spa

The opening tone suggests running water and freshness; the wooden flute, nature and the forest. Together, they are an invitation to wellness and relaxation. The acoustic signature is now associated with forRest, a spa resort "lost" in the woods.
